The Violette Marine Chamber Music Society is a collective of professional musicians who are passionate about bringing exceptional music to local artistic venues. We are named after the Violette Marine (French spelling), a Baroque string instrument built by Castrucci, as it appeared in Handel's opera, Orlando. It was chosen in the spirit of preserving old musical traditions, and a play on words, since we are living in a "marine" community. Tonight the Society will provide for you an evening of musical reflection in a program of hymns performed by Madeleine Downs (violin), Mary Jane Febonio (cello), and Christina Bray (piano).
