Dan King and The Goddesses  Website Acoustic Roots Rock 'N Roll
8-8:45 & 9-9:45

Dan King and The Goddesses photo Dan King has made his living as an artist, songwriter, producer, and music manager for many years. He has produced more than 15 albums with a range of styles and a broad cast of musicians. His bands have included KBMG (with David Brown, Dave Mattacks, and Wolf Ginandes), The Bandit Kings, and Luke Temple, and he has participated in many live and studio collaborations with local and national artists.

If you live in Cape Ann, chances are you've seen at least one member of "The Goddesses" perform in the last 25 years. Samantha Goddess is probably most recognized as the tallest member of Jenny Dee and the Deelinquents, the Gloucester/Somerville based "girl-group" personally chosen by Peter Wolf to open the J. Geils/Aerosmith show at Fenway Park in the summer of 2010. Samantha's husband Tony (who was born with that name) was also a member of Jenny Dee as well as world-renowned "indie-rock" band pApAs fritAs (who made two of their three records in West Gloucester), local 80's faves SAFETY, and is the proprietor of Rogers Street, Gloucester recording studio Bang-A-Song where iconic local favorites Willie “Loco” Alexander, Jon Butcher Axis, Harry and the Potters and What Time is it Mr. Fox have all made their most recent records.

So that covers the back story on "The Goddessess", but the now story is that together these two singers and players rock and roll....not rock...but rock AND roll....possibly America's greatest musical art form with distinct regional twists whether found in Austin, TX, New Orleans, LA, Memphis, TN, Muscle Shoals, AL or even Cape Ann, MA. That feeling that started with Fats Domino and Hank Williams, continued with Buddy Holly and The Coasters and never stopped through the 70's with NRBQ, Bob Seger and Nick Lowe. If you like music that makes you dance and harmonies that make you sing, you'll love "The Goddessess". You're bound to recognize a song from their repertoire and say, "I think I saw them play somewhere before...."

Dan looks forward to returning to Rockport New Year's Eve with his former Two Kinds of Mind Co-producer/KBMG Engineer/ Studio owner/Safety 80s conspirator Tony Goddess and his wife Samantha for a night of fun upbeat acoustic roots rock and roll.
